Whitney Lauenstein, an outside hitter for Nebraska, announced that she is transferring to Texas after entering the transfer portal in December.

Standing at 6 feet 2 inches, Lauenstein had an impressive sophomore season. Averaging 2.78 kills per set and a .238 hitting percentage, she earned AVCA All-Region honors in her second season as a Husker. In 32 matches played, Lauenstein served a team-high 28 service aces. She led the Huskers in scoring, with 383.5 points on the year.

She played her whole 2022 season before stepping away from volleyball to focus on her family. Lauenstein has two more years of eligibility.
